Sura AZ-ZUMAR Benefits And Some Meaningful Ayat
Surah Az-Zumar (The Troops) is the 39th chapter (surah) of
the Quran. It is a Makki surah, which means it was revealed in Mecca before the
migration of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Medina. This surah has
several meaningful ayat (verses) and carries various benefits for those who
recite and reflect upon its message. Here are some meaningful ayat and benefits
of Surah Az-Zumar:
Tawheed (Monotheism): The surah emphasizes the belief in the
oneness of Allah (Tawheed) and the rejection of any form of associating
partners with Him.
"Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against
themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah
forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
(Quran 39:53)
This verse reminds us of Allah's immense mercy and
forgiveness, encouraging repentance and a return to Him.
Creation and Signs of Allah: The surah highlights the signs of Allah's creation in the heavens and the earth, encouraging reflection on the natural world as evidence of His existence and power.
"Say, 'Is it other than Allah I should desire as a lord
while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except
against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then
to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which
you used to differ.'" (Quran 39:29)
Invitation to Reflect: Surah Az-Zumar invites people to
reflect on their purpose in life and their ultimate return to Allah.
"And those who have disbelieved say, 'The Hour will not
come to us.' Say, 'Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [ Allah is] the
Knower of the unseen.' Not absent from Him is an atom's weight within the
heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except
that it is in a clear register." (Quran 34:3)
Guidance for Believers: The surah offers guidance for
believers, urging them to maintain their faith and patience.
"So know that there is no deity except Allah and ask
forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. And
Allah knows of your movement and your resting place." (Quran 47:19)
Hope and Forgiveness: Surah Az-Zumar provides hope and
assurance of Allah's forgiveness for those who turn to Him in repentance.
"And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities,
and when they are angry, they forgive." (Quran 42:37)
Warning to the Disbelievers: The surah also contains
warnings to those who reject the message and persist in disbelief.
"But those who have disbelieved - their allies are
Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the
companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein." (Quran 2:257)
Overall, Surah Az-Zumar is a powerful surah that reminds believers of the importance of Tawheed, reflection on Allah's signs, and the need for repentance and forgiveness.
