Virtues of reading Surah Al-Muzzammil
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان ہمیشہ رحم فرمانے والا ہے
In the Name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Ever-Merciful.

يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ
اے کملی کی جھرمٹ والے (حبیب!)
O mantled (Beloved!)
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 1)
//-----------------------------------------------------------------------
قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
آپ رات کو (نماز میں) قیام فرمایا کریں مگر تھوڑی دیر (کے لئے)
Rise and stand (in Prayer) at night but (for) a short while,
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 2)

نِّصْفَهُ أَوِ انقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا
آدھی رات یا اِس سے تھوڑا کم کر دیں
Half the night or decrease it a little,
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 3)

أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا
یا اس پر کچھ زیادہ کر دیں اور قرآن خوب ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھا کریں
Or increase a little more to it. And recite the Qur’an with most pleasant pauses.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 4)

إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا
ہم عنقریب آپ پر ایک بھاری فرمان نازل کریں گے
Soon We shall send down to you a burdensome command.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 5)

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا
بے شک رات کا اُٹھنا (نفس کو) سخت پامال کرتا ہے اور (دِل و دِماغ کی یک سُوئی کے ساتھ) زبان سے سیدھی بات نکالتا ہے
No doubt rising at night strictly subdues (the ill-commanding self), and makes the tongue deliver straight and clear speech (with the concentration of head and heart).
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 6)

إِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا
بے شک آپ کے لئے دن میں بہت سی مصروفیات ہوتی ہیں
Of course, there are many commitments for you during the day.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 7)

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا
اور آپ اپنے رب کے نام کا ذِکر کرتے رہیں اور (اپنے قلب و باطن میں) ہر ایک سے ٹوٹ کر اُسی کے ہو رہیں
And continue remembering the Name of your Lord, devoted completely to Him alone (in your heart and soul), broken away from everyone else.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 8)

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا
وہ مشرق و مغرب کا مالک ہے، اُس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، سو اُسی کو (اپنا) کارساز بنا لیں
He is the Lord of the east and the west. There is no God but He. So take Him alone as (your) Guardian.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 9)

وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا
اور آپ ان (باتوں) پر صبر کریں جو کچھ وہ (کفار) کہتے ہیں، اور نہایت خوبصورتی کے ساتھ ان سے کنارہ کش ہو جائیں
And observe patience with what they (disbelievers) utter and turn aside from them in a fine manner.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 10)

وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا
اور آپ مجھے اور جھٹلانے والے سرمایہ داروں کو (اِنتقام لینے کے لئے) چھوڑ دیں اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دیں (تاکہ اُن کے اَعمالِ بد اپنی اِنتہاء کو پہنچ جائیں)
And leave Me (to deal) with the denying rich money-mongers (to take revenge). And give them a little respite (so that their evil deeds may cross the limit).
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 11)

إِنَّ لَدَيْنَا أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا
بیشک ہمارے پاس بھاری بیڑیاں اور (دوزخ کی) بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہے
Surely, We have heavy shackles and the Blazing Fire (of Hell),
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 12)

وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
اور حلق میں اٹک جانے والا کھانا اور نہایت دردناک عذاب ہے
And food that chokes the throat and most painful torment.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 13)

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا
جس دن زمین اورپہاڑ زور سے لرزنے لگیں گے اور پہاڑ بکھرتی ریت کے ٹیلے ہو جائیں گے
The Day when the earth and the mountains shall shake violently and mountains will turn into heaps of flying away sand.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 14)

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا
بے شک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھیجا ہے جو تم پر (اَحوال کا مشاہدہ فرما کر) گواہی دینے والا ہے، جیسا کہ ہم نے فرعون کی طرف ایک رسول کو بھیجا تھا
Surely, We have sent towards you a Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) who bears witness to you (seeing thoroughly your states of being) as We sent a Messenger towards Pharaoh.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 15)

فَعَصَى فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا
پس فرعون نے اس رسول (علیہ السلام) کی نافرمانی کی، سو ہم نے اس کو ہلاکت انگیز گرفت میں پکڑ لیا
So Pharaoh disobeyed that Messenger, and We seized him with a devastating seizure.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 16)

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا
اگر تم کفر کرتے رہو تو اُس دن (کے عذاب) سے کیسے بچو گے جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کردے گا
If you continue disbelieving, then how will you save yourselves from (the torment of) that Day which will turn the children old,
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 17)

السَّمَاءُ مُنفَطِرٌ بِهِ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَفْعُولًا
(جس دن کی) شدت کے باعث آسمان پھٹ جائے گا، اُس کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہے گا
(The Day) by whose severity the heaven will be split apart? His promise is bound to be fulfilled.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 18)

إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا
بے شک یہ (قرآن) نصیحت ہے، پس جو شخص چاہے اپنے رب تک پہنچنے کا راستہ اِختیار کر لے
Verily, this (Qur’an) is an admonition. So let him who desires adopt the way to reach his Lord.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 19)

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَى مِن ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَاللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَى وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
بے شک آپ کا رب جانتا ہے کہ آپ (کبھی) دو تہائی شب کے قریب اور (کبھی) نصف شب اور (کبھی) ایک تہائی شب (نماز میں) قیام کرتے ہیں، اور اُن لوگوں کی ایک جماعت (بھی) جو آپ کے ساتھ ہیں (قیام میں شریک ہوتی ہے)، اور اللہ ہی رات اور دن (کے گھٹنے اور بڑھنے) کا صحیح اندازہ رکھتا ہے، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم ہرگز اُس کے اِحاطہ کی طاقت نہیں رکھتے، سو اُس نے تم پر (مشقت میں تخفیف کر کے) معافی دے دی، پس جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے قرآن پڑھ لیا کرو، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم میں سے (بعض لوگ) بیمار ہوں گے اور (بعض) دوسرے لوگ زمین میں سفر کریں گے تاکہ اللہ کا فضل تلاش کریں اور (بعض) دیگر اللہ کی راہ میں جنگ کریں گے، سو جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے اُتنا (ہی) پڑھ لیا کرو، اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہو اور اللہ کو قرضِ حسن دیا کرو، اور جو بھلائی تم اپنے لئے آگے بھیجو گے اُسے اللہ کے حضور بہتر اور اَجر میں بزرگ تر پا لوگے، اور اللہ سے بخشش طلب کرتے رہو، اللہ بہت بخشنے والا بے حد رحم فرمانے والا ہے
Surely, your Lord knows that you stand (for prayer sometimes) about two-thirds of the night and (sometimes) half the night and (sometimes) a third of the night, and (also) a party of those who are with you (join in standing up for Prayer). And Allah is the One Who keeps the true measure (of increasing or decreasing) the night and the day. He knows that you just do not have the power to encompass it so He granted you forgiveness (by reducing the toil). So recite the Qur’an as much as is easy for you. He knows that (some of) you will be ill and (some) others will be travelling in the land to look for Allah’s bounty and (still some) others will be fighting in the way of Allah. So recite as much as is easy for you. And establish Prayer and pay Zakat (the Alms-due) and lend Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you will send forward for yourselves, you will find it in the presence of Allah much better and in reward still greater. And keep seeking forgiveness from Allah. Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.
(al-Muzzammil, 73 : 20)
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! (1) Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. (2)Half of it, or a little less than that, (3) Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
In all the 114 surahs of Holy Quran, there are numerous hidden virtues for us and we cannot discriminate any of the surah from the other.
